Registration

What is the registration fee for teams attending the World Cup?
Teams will be required to pay a nonrefundable registration fee of $400 per team.

How can my team pay the registration fee?
Teams will be able to pay the registration fee via Paypal or by check. Teams will receive an email after qualifying for World Cup where they will be able to select their preferred method of payment.

What are the deadlines for paying the registration fee?
After qualifying at their regional championship, teams will have one week to confirm their participation at the World Cup via an online form. The due date for the registration fee depends on the regional championships.

For teams with regional championships in the fall (MW, CA, NE, MA, W, Oc.):
All teams receive a World Cup bid at their regional will be asked to confirm their acceptance of the bid via an online form, within one week of the conclusion of their regional. Each of these teams must submit a nonrefundable $150 deposit 3 weeks after the date of their regional, and must pay the remainder of the fee ($250) by January 17, 2014.

For teams with regional championships in the spring (S, SW):
All teams receive a World Cup bid at their regional will be asked to confirm their acceptance of the bid via an online form, within one week of the conclusion of their regional. Each of these teams must submit the full $400 registration fee by March 14, 2014.

Why are teams required to pay a registration fee?
The World Cup is the IQA’s largest event of the year. In order to provide the high quality of service and amenities that are reflective of the league’s marquee event, it is necessary to fund the event in part through a registration fee. This fee is in addition to funding received from a variety of sources, including the support of the city of North Myrtle Beach.

Unlike regional championships, the fees for World Cup are not included in the IQA’s annual membership fees. This is because the league wants to ensure that only the teams participating in the tournament are required to contribute funding for the event.

How much will referees be paid?
Head referees will receive $20 per game officiated. This is more than the regular season $12 fee as a token of appreciation and thanks for our referees for officiating in the sport’s premier event. The referee payments are covered as part of the operating costs of the event, and no additional payment is required by teams beyond the team registration fee.

Unlike last year, the head referee payment will not be shared each game among qualified assistant referees.

Certified head referees who would like to referee games at the World Cup should apply by filling out this form. The deadline to apply is March 15.

What is the referee requirement for teams?
Teams are reminded that in order to attend World Cup, they must have one person pass the head referee written test, and an additional person attempt to pass the assistant referee written test, per the IQA Membership Program. The members of the team who satisfy these requirements do not need to be on the team’s World Cup roster.

These requirements must be satisfied no later than the Wednesday before the World Cup, on April 2, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
